Studio Policies

All dancers, will remove their outdoor footwear upon entering the studio, after having checked in with our door attendant. Family members are asked to drop off and return, or wait outside in their vehicles. The waiting room is currently off limits with the exception of our youngest pre-school Jr. Nursery class (3 year olds).

Lockers are currently off limits and any personal belongings such as outdoor shoes, coats, bags, etc., will be left in the common area. Tape has been marked on the carpet so that children space out their belongings. Dance Place is not responsible for any lost or stolen articles. Please leave all valuables at home.

Refunds, cancellations and make-up classes cannot be accepted at any time. If Dance Place is required to suspend in-studio classes due to a state of Emergency or other mandated government closure(s), all dance classes will continue online (Zoom or similar) for the remainder of the month. The next months payment will not be processed if we are still required to remain closed. Regular monthly fees will resume once we are back in the studio.

In the event of bad weather, please check the studio social media platforms and/or Website after 2:00 PM for any announcements of cancelled classes. The rescheduling of cancelled classes may or may not be possible.

No outside food or drinks permitted in the facility, with the exception of a water bottle. Absolutely NO STREET SHOES are allowed in any of the dance studios. If any dance shoes have been deemed to have been worn outside, they will not be allowed to be used in the studio.

Our Dance Place office is currently closed for weekly office hours. If you have any questions or would like to speak with someone we would kindly ask that you email danceplace@mail.com and/or send a private message on our Facebook page and we will do our best to address your needs as quickly as possible.

For The Students ...

Please respect your studio; place all garbage in the trash cans, pick up your belongings, do not wear street shoes in the studios, keep the common areas and washrooms tidy. Please be sure to clean up after yourself when you are finished having your classes. Nothing should be left behind in the hallways/common areas.

Students will not hang on the barres, touch the mirrors or operate the sound systems. Students will not be allowed in any dance studio without a teacher present. This is for your own safety.

Please login to your parent portal and notify us if you are going to be absent. Parents are asked not to send their children to class if the child, a member of their household or someone they have been in close contact with have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days and to remain at home until a negative test or confirmation from their doctor that it is safe to return to class. The studio is not responsible for missed notices due to absence. Please check the portal for any missed information. Notices and reminders are also posted on the Facebook page which is streamed to our studio website for your convenience.

The studio is not responsible for any lost or stolen articles. Please leave your valuables at home. For safety reasons no jewellery should be worn in class. Please leave all jewellery at home.

It is important that students come to class dressed in the proper dance attire so body lines are clearly visible to the instructors. This is necessary for proper instruction. Students who do not come prepared for class in the proper attire will be given a warning. If this lack of etiquette persists, students will be asked to leave class. Students are to have their hair tied back, and neatly secured off their face for all classes.

Students will show the utmost respect to the facility, fellow dancers, parents and staff at all times. Please do not disturb classes already in progress. If something is needed, you can always speak and address your questions/concerns with the door attendant. Please only interrupt a class in progress if the matter is URGENT.

Please make sure your child uses the washroom before coming to class to ensure they do not lose valuable instructional time. Please arrive at the designated drop off and pick up times to eliminate any congestion/unnecessary waiting around.  We understand that everyone has a schedule, please respect ours.

It is the parent's responsibility to ensure that the studio is informed of any change in address, telephone number &/or other contact information in the event of an emergency.  Please be sure the office has your most recent email address on file. The studio uses email as a source of reminders and updates throughout the dance season.

All vehicles must use the designated parking spaces. This includes drop offs & pick ups. Do not deliberately park or block the entrances and/exits to the parking lot. Dancers will be dismissed out of the same door they entered. The door attendant will help to facilitate the exit of students, however parents need to make themselves visible. Any students who do not see a family member that is present will be asked to wait inside the building.
